Sunday's last long run
So its no secret by now that I am running the Hershey Half Marathon as my first.. and that it is now LESS than a week away (holy, wow!). If you would have told 2011's version of me that I would run anything further than 3, maybe 4 miles I would have told you that you were off your darn rocker. Now many people think this exact thing of me.
Anyway, that's not the point. The point is that yesterday I completed my last long run before I conquer my first ever half marathon. I am nervous, anxious and excited all rolled into one. This will be the longest I have run to date and I just hope I don't let it all catch up to me and mess with my head.
I didn't really have a specific route in mind, which I know you are not supposed to do, when I left the house. The only thing I did know for certain was that I had to get back up to Negley (read: climb some major hill) because it has been a while. I ended up visiting the park twice and even though this meant me stopping to enjoy the view, I don't regret it.

I mean seriously, how could you? I hope this view never gets old for me because it is a nice little escape and even though there are others always around, it always can feel like your special place. I love going up here and seeing this view. Time after time. I really can't wait to see all the leaves changed.
My attempt at a selfie and trying to get some of the awesome scenary in the background.. not too easy but this it about mile 6.5 and my second trip around to the park.
I decided I'd take an ice bath since my calf was bothering me off and on plus a fun little cramp in the side on my right foot. I am determined to stretch, yoga and massage these to the point that 13.1 Sunday will be a breeze, aka trying to make them disappear!!
And that's that. One or two short relaxed runs and then it is showtime. So thankful to have support and love from many of my friends and family members. Even more so, of my husband since Thursday will be our 4th anniversary and instead of planning some big weekend, I am running my first half marathon. I am one lucky girl. :) Seriously.
